Delft Blue Photo Tiles in a Box Frame captures four photos in hand-painted Delft Blue style and fires them onto four 15-centimetre ceramic tiles, each with its own medallion, together in one 30 by 30 box frame. It is by a wide margin the largest thing we make in ceramic.

What makes this style special?

Our AI's Delft Blue style rebuilds each portrait as a traditional Delft tile painting. Facial structure, expression and recognisable features stay true to the original, but drawn with the soft brushstrokes and deep cobalt blue of the old masters of Delft. On every tile a medallion centres the portrait; graceful flowers, leaves and corner ornaments frame it.

If one of your photos has several people in it, everyone on that tile stays in view. Our AI adjusts the composition so that all the main figures fit neatly inside that medallion; nobody is cropped away.

Why this format?

Delft Blue has always been an art of tiles side by side: a tableau of four, six or twelve tiles, each with its own scene, with the seams simply running between them. This is exactly that. Four tiles sit edge to edge inside the frame, each with its own photo, its own medallion and its own border — and the cross of seams falls exactly between the four tiles, never through a face.
